Through Restore Saint Paul, Historic Saint Paul offers up to $10,000 as a low-interest loan. The loan review committee uses the following guidelines when considering an application for a loan:
- Geographic Boundaries: The boundaries of the Restore Saint Paul program encompass the Dayton’s Bluff, Payne Phalen and Thomas-Dale (Frogtown) neighborhoods.
- Eligible Applicants: Any residential or commercial property owners residing (or doing business) within the geographic boundaries are eligible to receive a Restore Saint Paul loan.
- Eligible Properties Any residential or commercial property that is at least 40 years old is eligible to receive a Restore Saint Paul loan. Residential properties must also be owner occupied. Priority is given to properties that are architecturally compatible with the predominant character of the surrounding area
- Eligible Work: The Restore Saint Paul loan must be used for improvements to the exterior façade that are visible from the street. All work must be consistent with the historic character of the property.
