Date:
15 May 2008 - 7:00pm - 15 May 2008 - 8:30pm

Hear the stories and explore the transportation history of University Avenue with architectural historian and University UNITED Executive Director Brian McMahon on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level Auditorium of the Hamline Midway Branch Library at 1558 West Minnehaha, just one block east of Snelling.

The Hamline Midway History Corps is excited to feature Brian McMahon at our Speaker Series. We hope you will join us for an engaging discussion of the history of transportation along University Avenue from hot air balloons and horses, railways and streetcars, to airplanes and automobiles. McMahon’s extensive research over the past 8 years merges with his other interests including the history of Ford Motors in Minnesota, industrial architecture, and the urban built environment. McMahon has a collection of artifacts and historic images from University Avenue to share with neighbors and history lovers.

The Hamline Midway History Corps Speaker Series is a free event and is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library.
