823 University Avenue West

This 1915 Mediterranean Revival style building, originally home to a pioneering film production company, is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Its beauty is obscured by a uniform coat of paint as well as other unsympathetic alterations over time including signage and replacement windows. The original, distinctive, detailed brickwork remains and will be highlighted once again by a two-tone paint scheme. The project, in which Neighborhood Development Center is a partner, will also include masonry and stucco repairs, new windows and door, new signage, and minor site work. Coming soon: a complete facade rehabilitation!
